Vladimir Matveev was born in Blagoveschensk-on-the-Amur on 20th May 1963 to the family of a sculptor. He started on his artistic career in Penza, where his family moved when he was 11 years of age. There he began to exhibit his work at professional shows from 1980.From 1980 to 1982 he studied at the Penza Art school and continued his artistic quest.

There he began to exhibit his work at professional shows from 1980.From 1980 to 1982 he studied at the Penza Art school and continued his artistic quest.

Vladimir has lived and worked in Moscow since 1987. He participates in local, national and international exhibitions both in Moscow and abroad. His work can be seen in Russian museums and in private collections in Moscow and elsewhere in Russia, Europe, the United States and Japan. He is a member of the International Art Fund and the Moscow Union of Artists. His works were sold at the DROUOTauction in Paris.
